Our Story
In 1986, Judy Stuart Carter became a 2nd generation business woman by purchasing “The Karat Patch”—using her mother’s store, Stuart Farm Supply, as collateral. After earning her Graduate Gemologist degree while living in California, she was able to grow her small kiosk in Cloverleaf Mall to a corner location; re-naming it to what we know today as Carter’s Jewelry. Later, she opened a location in Petal, MS, where she and her husband Scott raised their three daughters. After many years in the business, Judy decided to pass the torch to her eldest daughter, Chae Carter (me!). Hard work, honesty, and integrity are the foundation of what built Carter's Jewelry. I have taken what both generations of strong and amazing women have taught me and grown the store to heights we never imagined possible. We have added such hardworking team members and gained so many wonderful clients in the process. In 2017, we relocated to our new shopping center on Evelyn Gandy Parkway in Petal. The sky is the limit, and I can't wait to see what’s next!
